Hello,recently i formated my computer (installing win xp sp3)before i format it i copied files i needed after the format to my external hard diskwhen i loged in my windows i wanted to see a file i needed at my external diskwhen i tried to open a txt file it was saying Access denied and i couldn't open it.then i tried to open a picture (JPEG) and i couldn't see the picture (No preview available)and now i cant copy/use any of my files!!! i have tried everything about ownership etc. thanks1 person got this answerI do too

I have done "How to take ownership of a file or a folder in Windows XP" thingsAbout the encrypting i didnt encrypt any of the files...The "How to disable simple file sharing and how to set permissions on a shared folder in Windows XP" i downloaded the fix it file but i dont realy know how to use itI would appreaciate if you told me how to use itand last i tried to open them with the knoppix linux cd boot but still couldnt open them PS. i can open application files but cant open image and mp3 files. Thank you for the reply PS.2 my files ultimately were encrypted but i dont know why or how they got encrypted...i downloaded a program and somehow got them decrypted..thanks for your help
