Hello Debbie, In Network and Sharing Center in Control Panel, what are your options set to?Password protected sharing is turned on by default in Windows Vista. If its turned on, you'll need to assign a user account a password if it does not in order to work properly over the network. If you have afirewall program such Norton, ZoneAlarm, or Windows Live OneCare, you'll need to make sure it is properly configured for the local area network. If you haven't already, please review this TechNet. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727037.aspx -- Eric Cross Microsoft MVP (Windows Desktop Experience) http://mvp.support.microsoft.com

Hi Debbie, Maybe the Windows Vista laptop has blocked anonymous accesses. On Windows Vista laptop please launch "Regedit" in Start Search box, navigate to the following branch. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\LSA Making "RestrictAnonymous" and ,"Restrict anonymous sam" values as 0. Then restart. If the issue persists, turn off the anti-virus and firewall programs on both computers, and then check the issue.
