A licensing question
Greetings. I have been given a two year old HP unit which came with Vista Premium. I have since been running Windows 7RC and would like to install the retail upgrade version when it does come out.Question(s):Will I be able to use the OEM COA on the retail upgrade? I realize Imay be able toorder the upgrade from HP but would rather not since these recovery cd's are bundled with useless software (to me). I say "may be" as the unit is two years old and out of warranty.Am I stuck with either going through the HP route orbuying a full version? Many thanks for your input.Mitch

If you wish to install Windows 7 on a blank hard drive, then you'll need a "full license" edition of Windows 7. Otherwise, a qualifying Windows operating system must be actually installed before you can install an Upgrade version of Windows 7.Carey Frisch
