A few issues I have noticed with RC1 x64
1. In Windows explorer, the folders panel moves folders when it automatically opens subfolders. The result of this is that when I try moving files into the My Documents folder, it has a nasty habit of expanding the subfolder just as I release the mouse button and therefore moves the files into one of the existing subfolders. What should happen is that the folder that you are hovering over should remain in the same place and the expanded folders should be listed below that even if you then need to scroll down to get to the correct one.2. For some reason, Windows 7 thinks that my Hard Drive is a 'removeable storage device' and, when I want to close my USB drive, it allows me to close the hard drive as well. I can kinda see how this might be a useful option (if it actually does anything... I haven't had the nerve to try doing it) but there should be an option to mark storage devices as non-removable so that they are not listed.3. Windows 7 does not seem to wake on mouse movement although the keyboard works.Built my own i7-920, Asus P6T, 6GB, 1TB Caviar Black, 4870 with 1GB.

Siggy - 1.) Yeah.. That is a problem that needs to be looked into..2.) Your hard drive is problably a SATA drive - no? I've seen that happen under both XP and Vista. It treats internal SATA disks as removable storage. I'm guessing this is because the SATA specs do allow for eSATA connections as well and it likely can't tell the difference between the two. Oddly enough, on my system, I've got 2 SATA drives and Win 7 Beta and RC do not see them as removable. Eh.. Go figure... It's probably for the best you don't shut down and remove a SATA drive - especially if it's your system drive. The result would likely be quite ugly.3.) That could be a setting somewhere in the mouse software or power settings.

The explorer issue is the type of minor niggle that bugs users and leads to an operating system getting a bad reputation. Since it should be easy to fix, I wanted to raise it even though it is probably not a 'bug' per se.Yep, my hard drive is a SATA. However, there does need to be the option to mark it as non-removeable and, ideally, that should be the default for all SATA devices if Windows cannot distinguish between regular and e-SATA devices. Most people do not use e-SATA and it is all too easy to accidentally select the wrong device to shut down if it is listed. The few people who know what e-SATA is and use it rather than USB will be able to configure the port/s used for e-SATA as removable, assuming that the option is available. As for the mouse not waking... I have seen other comments about this and so just wanted to ensure that I included it to indicate that it is a widespread issue. Also, last night I tried running a stress test using Prime95 with Speedfan to monitor the temperatures. It ran for at least an hour (CPU temp was at 54C at this point) but when I checked it about 3 hours later, the wake-up produced a blue screen and then an error message and then an automatic restart before I could read or record the error. When the computer finished booting, it came up with a message saying that it could not contact microsoft to check it (presumably because my dial-up was not yet connected) and only allowed me to 'send the error later' even after the dial-up was fully connected. I don't know if it has been sent or what, if anything, I can do to force it to send this.Still happy with W7... I suspect the blue screen was due to problems with the power-profile when the computer was left running unattended for so long. I'll try again tonight after checking what the power options areBuilt my own i7-920, Asus P6T, 6GB, 1TB Caviar Black, 4870 with 1GB.

siggy - Yep... It's an annoyance - not so much a bug. I think the idea is to drag/drop quickly - not give it a chance to spring open. If I recall correctly, that behavior's been around forever - or at least windows 3.0 whichever came first. As far as SATA goes... I think it may be a simple matter of making sure motherboards can manage their device ports better.Of course, that would require some programming from the people who put the mobo together in the first place. The power/sleep issue - it seems to be a common known issue with the RC. With any luck they're working on a fix that'll be out soon.
