A Win7 client is unable to properly rename folders it will jump constantly as though she's finished typing.....
A client's Win7 workstation has recently started 'auto-completing' her renaming of folders. She right clicks on the folder and when in 'Rename' it will act as though the 'Enter' button has been pressed and stop her midway through renaming the new/existing folder on the network drives. We have replaced both keyboard and mouse and the whole computer has been reimaged only the same annoying problem is still there. Not really sure what to do about it and the only way she can rename her folders now is by using her keyboard hotkeys. Anyone have any ideas as to why this is occurring?

If you reimaged system and the problem persists, then focus your attention to hardware. For sure I would recommend clean installation with chipser driver installation just after clean install. Regards Milos

Are there any other symptoms shown, or only when renaming folders? I had a similar issue when the batteries ran low on my wireless mouse. I also have an issue like this on a laptop with a hyper-sensitive touch pad.

there's no wireless mouse, both mouse and keyboard are linked via cable. It's just using a Dell workstation. It occurs when she's renaming or creating a new folder in windows explorer. I can have a look at the hardware but seemed to be more of a software issue.

Hi, If this issue occurs recently, youd better restore your system to previous point to repair it. I suggest you update your motherboard driver and check it again. If the issue persists, you may perform In-Place Upgrade to repair system.
