I had wondered why my Gadgets where not working. The never did for me tho. I install AVG first on a fresh install tho (call it a habit) so this is probably the cause. Thanks mate, i'll uninstall it and go back to NOD32 for now.

Have you turned of UAC?

My UAC is off yes. I am currently in work, so I cannot try this until I get home shortly after 9PM GMT.

Well AVG works fine for me .... and Yes I have a currency gadget(living in Germany and watching the English pound I need it!) Seriously, it's more likely Windows 7, because everyday I have to fix problems for a system that was working 24 hours before...today Outlook freezes, yesterday it was IE8 using the wrong time frame, the day before the network printers stopped working. Do not always blame the application, this operating system is really pre- beta
