Hi everyone, i'm having trouble on my computer with the new Windows 7 Beta OS and it's got somethingto do with the firewall. Everytime I restart my computer, or turn my computer off, I will start upup a admin shield prompting me to Activate the Firewall. I do so, and it works fine for a while. However,I really dont know how to keep my firewall on at all times using either the windows7 defender one, or the avg 8.0 anti virus one,which do you recommend and how? thanks

Well in my case I use a firmware firewall (via my router). Mainly due to the fact that I have had similar problems as you in the past. If you are in a similar situation you can simply turn off firewall notifications in the action centre.

I would stick with the Windows built in one for now. I have not seen any firewalls that are confirmed working on Windows 7 at this time. ~Alex T.~Windows Desktop Experience MVP~

Hi Just wondering how you got avg 8 working because when i install it i get an error saying that avg is configured incorectly yet i cant open avg to correct the problem.

Hi, I am new on here and after browsing a few posts I noticed this one. Strange but I have been running AVG 8 on Windows 7 for a couple of weeks now without any problems. I have the AVG 8 full security suite and as far as I can see everything is up and running, including the firewall. Updates every four hours and touch wood no issues. On Vista at the moment but will reboot in moment to 7 and double check.Barny61.
