As for the final Language Packs should be available for ALL versions and not just ultimate. Provided as optional downloads from the Windows 7 website or even windows/Microsoft update. (what ever the name is now)

I think there is no need to make it available for all versions. Since if you are in a non-english nation, you can purchase a non-Ultimate single language version for ur region, you will only need to buy ultimate if you need to have multiple interfaces for some reason, that would probably mean you are doing some 'ultimate' work.

The sad thing is that if wanted to buy a single-language version over here, then I would have to wait 1-2 months before it (or any version of Win fo that matter) appears here for a much higher price than in the US (XP Pro still costs about 200 dolars here in some stores). The only hope would be for Amazon to have non-English versions of Windowa (not likely) or other language option in the standard Windows7 Home Premium or smth...Regards, Kristaps.

HiWhat makes it so expensive where you are at? Is it the monetary exchange rate or.....?Thank You for testing Windows 7 Ronnie Vernon MVP

Most probably it's the greed of retailers :( It's that way with almost all electronics/software here - they take the price in US Dollars (for example, something that costs $100) and convert that sum to our money 1:1 (even though the exchange rate is about 0.51), so we end up paying $200 for something that costs about $100 in the US.Regards, Kristaps.

From what's repeated in some sources, for instance at http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=599&pgno=1, the retail (boxed) language versions of Win7 shall be released in waves (as they did in Vista, I believe). The first one (wave 0) being English, Spanish, Japanese, German, French, and the last one (wave 7, RTM + 101 days) being Estonian, Croatian, Serbian Latin, Latvian, Slovenian.Mob. Yay, only 3 months after RTM. Like that's going to motivate me buy it. Probably even RC is going to end before then. BTW, MS, these Waves are not going to speed up adoption and lessen piracy rates. If Joe in USA or UK can have Win7, why does Kristaps in Latvia or Peter in Estonia [who probably has much more interest in Win7 than Joe] can get it only after 3 moths? Peter most probably will download Win7 via bittorrent and use that version, because he makes money by blogging about things like that. But that's just my two eurocents. P.S.: Would anyone please care to explain the strategy behind these Waves ? IMHO there are much more losses (piracy, lost sales) than benefits (none)... Regards, Kristaps.

Laccetti (professor of humanities at Stevens Institute of Technology) and Molsk, in their essay entitled The Lost Art of Writing,[11][12] are critical of the acronyms, predicting reduced chances of employment for students who use such acronyms, stating that, "Unfortunately for these students, their bosses will not be 'lol' when they read a report that lacks proper punctuation and grammar, has numerous misspellings, various made-up words, and silly acronyms." Fondiller and Nerone[13] in their style manual assert that "professional or business communication should never be careless or poorly constructed" whether one is writing an electronic mail message or an article for publication, and warn against the use of smileys and these abbreviations, stating that they are "no more than e-mail slang and have no place in business communication".Mob.
