ATI Driver Installation fails
Looking for some assistance.
I've a clean installation ofWindows 7 Enterprise running on an Compaq 8510p with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600with default driver 8.632.1.2000 dtd 17Aug09.
I downloaded the beta Windows 7 driver but when I attempt to run the setup I get as far as the Select Installation Operation>Install screen then "Catalyst Install Manager has stopped working" close the program. Event Log show,and

This is highly frustrating. Both my monitors work fine but the screensaver nor the monitor power off settings work.
Any help is much appreciated.

Try dissabling UAC before install, or use a stable driver

I am having the same issue trying to install an ATI X1950 AGP card on my Windows Server 2008 machine.I downloaded the hotfix but that failed with: Error1935. An error occured during installation of the assembly.Any ideas?Thanks.

I can confirm KeithTD's recommendation. In fact the problem and its solution show up in the Solve PC issues notification applet. Represented by the little flag icon in the notification area.
