AD accounts get locked by mail app after changing AD passwords

Hello community

We are running some Windows 8.1 tablets in our domain controlled environment (with 2012 domain controller).

I found out that after a user sets a new AD password, the W 8.1 mail app tries to sync the exchange account with the old password. This behavior is basically not the direct problem.

The fist sync attempt of the app mail client after changing password with invalid credentials leads directly to a locked up AD account. In Outlook 2010 the user will be promted to enter his new password. Only after five wrong attempts in outlook 2010 the users AD account will be look .

Is there a solution to stop this behavior in the W 8.1 mail app? Maybe by a GPO or so?

Thanks in advance for any supporting help,

Dario

Hi Dazool68,

We could try to modify the account lockout policy to have a check. I won`t guarantee it will work as expected.
