ADSL connection problem
Hello,I have a Vista Business set up on my computer. My problem is much like that in thread:http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2869109&SiteID=17I can ping sites, but can not connect to some of them using a browser. As an example, I am writing this mail through the faulty connection, but can not connect to www.yahoo.com. The browser says "Waiting for reply" and then nothing more. I have google'd the problem (this is also an accesible site) and saw that the problem is everywhere. Except the forementioned thread, there were not many reasonable suggestions, so I tried all of them. I turned off my firewall completely, disabled any startup programs, and now connect to the U.S. Robotics ADSL wireless gateway we have through a cable instead of wireless. I tried using both IE and firefox. I tried renaming my hosts files to oldhosts.I also tried disabling priority and vlan as the above thread comments. They were already disabled but I enabled and disabled them. I dont seem to be able to uninstall IPv6, so that I havent done. And all these to no avail. I also can not play WoW, which really pisses me off. I says authenticating and just waits there, again suggesting that some packages are not traveling properly. I can not connect to my work webmail. So much for mobility. What is most amazing, is that yesterday evening, all was working well. Remarkable, no?I would be very happy if you could assist me.Irem
