I am trying to install adksetup for installing scvmm 2012 sp1. But I got always the same error msg : " Not all privileges or groups referenced are assigned to the caller"

In the log file i have this :

"Image path is [\??\C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\8.0\Assessment and Deployment Kit\Deployment Tools\amd64\DISM\wimmount.sys]
Could not acquire privileges; GLE=0x514
Returning status 0x514"

Can some one help me please ?

I had the same issue installing ADK's Deployment Tools and Preinstall Environment modules that, as you may know, is a pre-requirement when installing SC2012 VMM.  It was a new VM in HyperV running Windows 2012 and integrated to an Active Directory domain. I had the same exact error as specified above. Attempted the installation logged on as local administrator account and also as a Domain Admin with the same failed results. It was not until I disjoined the computer from the domain that I was able to install ADK without issues.

Needless to say, I will install ADK before I join the computer to the domain on my next SC2012 VMM deployments.

I was having the same error trying to install adksetup.  I tried removing from domain, using only local admin account but none of those helped.  When I looked at "Image path is [\??\C:\Program Files" error I saw the two "??" it made me decide to try moving the adksetup.exe file to the root of the C drive.  I was running the .exe from c:\Temp and once I moved the adksetup.exe to the C:\ it installed fine with no more errors!  This is what worked for me.  Hoping it will help someone else. 

We encountered the same exact error and discovered that it was caused by SkyRecon StormShield blocking the wimmount.sys driver from loading. The privilege that ADKSetup.exe could not acquire was the SE_LOAD_DRIVER_PRIVILEGE. Even, if you're not running SkyRecon, check the logs of your security products, as other products such as Cisco Security Agent, could cause similar failures.

Here are the specifics:

From one of the ADKSetup.exe installation logs under %Temp%\adk:

Image path is [\??\C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\8.1\Assessment and Deployment Kit\Deployment Tools\amd64\DISM\wimmount.sys]
Could not acquire privileges; GLE=0x514
Returning status 0x514

From the SkyRecon StormShield log:

I was having this same issue.  I didn't want to remove the server from the domain as others had suggested.  What I did was first log on to the local admin account at the server console (not over RDP).  I then moved the adksetup.exe to a drive other than the C drive and ran the installer and it worked.

Running as SYSTEM did work for me, but it is only a workaround and did resolve issues with building boot media in ConfigMgr / SCCM.

In my case the account I was running as had the User Right Assignment for Restore/Back Up files and folders removed by a domain GPO.  Adding the account to a group that had the privilege solved the issue.
