Hi this is so wired and i never faced it before!! recently i noticed that every file i DL from internet doesn't save into my Desktop (even though i set Dl manager to save there). when i go to my user profile desktop folder (Mahdi/Desktop) i see my file is sitting there but in my actual desktop screen the file isn't shown... after uninstalling some programs that i doubt them, i saw no change. tonight after i wanted to save a file in desktop suddenly i noticed something, the file saved in "H:\ACA_DocFolder\Mahdi\Desktop", windows is installed in "C" drive, i've never changed my profile address. searched this "ACA_DocFolder"in google and just found an Arabic irrelative webpage ! Can anyone help me here? what's going on? (there is no virus/malware and... on my system cause i've a good AV and FW) ThanksMCP#3314468 MCSA:Security, MCSE:Security

Hi I don't recognise that folder name? You might want to right click that folder and open Properties. Check the time and date that it was created to see if this provides any information. What do you use the H: Drive for? Is there any sub-folders under that folder? Does that folder contain all of the files that are on your actual Desktop? Let us know. "H" is an extra drive to store my usual files (not system nor partition). in "H" i've: ACA_DocFolder > Mahdi and inside "Mahdi" i've: Desktop Documents Favorites SystemTemp Temp Templates it seems it contains all my desktop files MCP#3314468 MCSA:Security, MCSE:Security

Hi, As I understand that your profile was redirected to H:\ drive. Did you configure any folder redirection option before? Please go to the following registry location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList Check the Default, Public, ProfileDirectory keys and see if the paths are navigated to H:\ACA_DocFolder\. If so, change them back to the following values: Default: %SystemDrive%\Users\Default Public: %SystemDrive%\Users\Public ProfileDirectory: %SystemDrive%\Users Then log off. From this point on, any new user logged in to this computer will have a new user profile that’s located in the new location. In order to prohibit user from redirecting any profile folders, please enable the following Group Policy: 1) Type: GPedit.msc in Start Search box. 2) Open Local Group Policy Editor and navigate to the following path: User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Desktop Find the entry “Prohibit User from manually redirecting Profile Folders” and enable it.
