HiIntel Wireless cards usually load the Intel utility with the Drivers.Look at the Utility menus and see if there an Entry that allows you to disable the Intel manager and use WZCIf ther is No entry look at eth startup folder and take out whatever starts the Intel utility at boot.If your WZC is not functioning, this might help, http://www.ezlan.net/wzc.htmlJack, MVP-Networking. OK. So I went to www.ezlan.net and that didn't help. None of the screen captures look like what I get when I click on "Wireless Networks". Could it be that the last XP Service Pack changed the selections? All I want is Article 871122 from the knowledge base.

Hi! I goofed my wireless configuration up trying to solve a poor LAN connection at home. This answer from Amnah_95 solved by problem by following the instructions and a restart. Thanks Amnah_95.I think you have got third party software installed in your laptop to configure the wireless adaptor. Third party software seems to have disabled the Microsoft's Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) service. You need to re-enable it.Follow the steps below to enable the WZC on your laptop.1. Click Start, click Run, type %SystemRoot%\system32\services.msc /s, and then clickOK.2. Double-click Wireless Zero Configuration.3. In the Startup type list, click Automatic, and then clickApply.4. In the Service status area, click Start, and then clickOK.Some wireless adapters' configuration software deletes the WZC service. If that is the case, you can try this fix by editing registry value.Caution: Registry editing can be dangerous, use it on your own risk.1. Click Start - Run and type reg. Then click OK.2. Browse this registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\WZCSVC3. Then, create a DWORD value and name it "Start" and set it to 2.Proposed As Answer byAmnah_95Tuesday, July 06, 2010 1:32 PM Marked As Answer byCody - Support EngineerMicrosoft Support, ModeratorThursday, August 19, 2010 12:41 AM
