802.1x Netbook picks up policy settings but never gets the certificate from the server
Folks,We have an OU which has a policy set for 802.1x netbooks and laptops which works fine with XP and Vista but not Windows 7. The Windows 7 machine never picks up the certificate from the server which allows the computer to login to our domain via the wireless card, the policy is applied (when connected by a wired connection) and creates the wireless connection as per the policy but without the certificate it can't connect wirelessly. Are there some additional settings one would need to set to allow the Windows 7 machine too connect?Martin SearleUniversity of Kent, UK

Hi Martin, Please refer to the following documents to enable 802.1X authentication: Enable 802.1X authentication Enable smart card or other certificate authentication Define 802.1X authentication for wireless networks on a client computer Hope this helps. Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT
