802.11 Protocols
I am trying to find out if Windows has a upgrade to XP that supprots the 802.11 N protocol? I have just installed a new Netgear N300 router DSL modem and can only use the "G" protocol. Netgear only has firmware upgrades not Windows. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks2 people need an answerI do too

Your wireless network adapter -- hardware and driver program -- must support the 802.11n protocol. That's not a function of Windows XP.Boulder Computer Maven Microsoft Most Valuable Professional

I have the same problem. XP doesn't have 802.11n and I'd like to upgrade to it so I can increase the throughput on my vista/xp wireless network.

802.11n support doesn't depend on what version of Windows you have. Windows XP, Vista, and 7 can all use 802.11n with a suitable wireless network adapter.Boulder Computer MavenMicrosoft Most Valuable Professional
