The headline says it all.  I upgraded with new software to the 8.1 and now can not connect to my favorite printer, an HP laserjet 1000.   I need some really specific, step-by-step help and direction about how to fix this issue.  I can find my away pretty well on a computer but I'm not the most tech savvy with lingo.

I'm not really certain how to get an answer once I submit this question??

Unfortunately HP discontinued HP laserjet 1000. The driver for this printer is designed for Windows XP, Windows 2000 and Windows 2003. It has no driver support for Windows 8.1. You may go through the driver and software support list for HP LaserJet printer:

You may be able to use an earlier driver by installing it in compatibility mode

To install in compatibility mode do the following:

Right click the installer>properties>compatibility>choose OS
