I have tried to solve this on my own by using an assortment of solutions found on online forums but to no avail. Will the service pack fix this issue perhaps? anyway, I have already downloaded the raspppoe from vista and tried that solution. I have been able to get on the internet and surf infrequently with no changes. It just randomly works on some boot ups but then will crash quickly. I now receive the 797 error. this interent connection via ethernet is my only way to communicate with my family in the states. I am using a service called Amcom village net and my ethernet cable is plugged directly into the wall here in my room. Also, I am not a great tech person. I can find files and whatnot, but once i get into the console I am hopeless. I hope someone can help me. thanks. Hi, This error code indicates that an incorrect driver is installed for the modem.
