64 bit Win 7 live messenger and 32 bit web browsers keep crashing
I am using Win 7 64 bit.
The problem is that live messenger and all 32 bit web browsers (ie 32 bit, firefox 32 bit) keep crashing
several hours after I turn on my computer. In the mean time all 64 bit browsers work just fine.
If I restart firefox or msn, they will crash again in 0.1 second. If I restart my computer, the problem will be
gone for several hours and then come back.
The error message is as follows:
Faulting application name: msnmsgr.exe, version: 14.0.8117.416, time stamp: 0x4bc935af
Faulting module name: GDI32.dll, version: 6.1.7600.16385, time stamp: 0x4a5bdb38

Faulting module path: C:\Windows\syswow64\GDI32.dll

Can anyone help me solve this problem? Thanks

I appears the GDI32.dll may be corrupt.
What is the exact make, model, and series of your computer or motherboard?

Lenovo Thinkpad X201I bought it a week ago.
Windows 7 64 bit is up to date.
I checked the date of gdi32.dll. The date is the same as most other .dll files in the same directory: C:\Windows\SysWOW64.

Since you bought it a week ago, then you need to contact Lenovo Support. The system comes with a manufacturer's warranty witch includes the Windows 7 pre-installed on the system.
See info @

The date of the two files will be the same, but one is 64-bit and the other is 32-bit. You can still get information about the file even if it is corrupted. Corruption does not mean the entire file is bad, it could be only one or two bytes within
the file.
