3rd Party Tool for encrypted password protected folders
Hi all Which 3rd party tools do people use for an encrypted folder with password protection. The goal is for my boss to have a folder on the desktop of his Toshiba laptop. The folder must be encrypted, and require a password (preferably linked to the fingerprint reader) to open it every time. I've investigated many tools available and the closest so far is My Lockbox, but it does not automatically relock the folder on close. TIA

Hi, To encrypted certain drive with password protection, you can use BitLocker function. For more information about the feature, please refer to the following article: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows7/products/features/bitlocker Meanwhile, if you would like to encrypt certain folder with a password, you have to use some third party software, such as WinRAR. You should download Folder Password Expert . It is a very stable encryption program. By the way, Folder Password Expert does not re-lock folders automatically but it is a good thing. To re-lock the folder with your password, the program would have to store the password somewhere. Most programs store it in the Windows registry and it is easy to get the password and decrypt the folder. You see, if the program stored the password on your drive, your data security would be close to zero. So it is a good thing that Folder Password Expert does not store passwords and cannot re-lock folders. I recommend that you give it a try.
