downloaded 2wire 802./g wlan zip file on XP and then went toW7 and it won't open it. Actually it doesn't display the sub directory. All that I need to do is get hooked up to the internet, but I need this driver for my Uverse wireless to do so. I even disconnected everything, went to the other room and hooked up the Eithernet cable directly into my computer because it shows a network connection (with an X) over it on my taskbar. Nope.........

Hi, Thank you for posting. Please try the following: 1. Boot to Windows XP. 2. Extract the zip file to a removable storage device. 3. Boot to Windows 7, and you can access the files which has been already extracted via Windows Explorer. Hope this helps. Thanks.Nicholas Li - MSFT

Thanks for the reply Nicholas.by moving away from my Wifi, and connecting directly to Eithernet on the computer, I amnow able get to the internet (not using the 2wire software) and also to the 2wire file subdirectory on my computer.It is a zip file and all that it does is unzip to 3 files which do nothing as I open them. Are you saying that by making it a standalone file on a removable disk it will do anything different?

Extract the driver package to a storage device. 2. Boot to Windows 7 and go to Device Manager. 3. Navigate to the network adapter (or it may be just an unknown device with a yellow exclamation mark), right-click on it and select Update Driver software. 4. When the Update Driver software window appears, please choose Browse my computer for driver software, and locate the folder which you have just extracted, check the item Include subfolders and click Next. I have exactly the same problem with the 2wire drivers. They are for Vista, but my understanding is that Windows 7 should recognize them anyway. I've extracted them in several locations, but Windows 7 doesn't agree its a driver for that device.Any thoughts?

Thanks all, I have resolved my issue by downloading the 2wire (Vista 32 version) toCDand then opening the culprit adaptor in W-7 and loading from the CD.Thanks for the help.
