2nd monitor disappears after RDP connection
I have a desktop PC with 2 monitors, which I use in the office and also log-in remotely using Remote Desktop. Sometimes, after using Remote Desktop, when I return to the office the 2nd monitor is lost. Using "Detect" on the Screen resolution doesn't find the 2nd monitor, and no amount of re-installing display drivers, will get the 2nd monitor back. Usually after a week or so, a reboot then fixes it, but nothing in the meantime seems to resolve it. It seems like there is a bug lurking in RDP that's maybe causing the OS to still believe it should just render to a single monitor, as it does when I connect via RDP. It then refuses to recognise the 2nd monitor when I'm in the office and logged in. We have this problem on both of the PCs here that we regularly Remote Desktop into, and it's driving us insane. Please advise.

Maybe some suggestions for troubleshooting: if the issue occurs, try diasbling rdp and rebooting the machine. If this resolves the issue, the issue probably is indeed RDP RDP supports disconnected sessions. If the issue occurs, check if other users aree loged on or have disconnected sessions If the issue occurs, you might want to try to unplug your monitors and replug them. Normally 7 would detect the monitors. Check which version of RDP you are using. Since Vista major changes were made to RDP. Since Vista, RDP support the use of multiple monitors (spanning). Try to use mstsc /span to avoid the issue. MCSA/MCTS/MCP
