2 PC connected over lan with router
Hello, I have 2 PCs- 1st Main (HOME) - windows 7 64bit professional 2nd Secondary (HTPC) - windows 7 32bit enterprise Both connected to a TP-link TL-WR1043ND with CAT6 cable. Both getting Internet signal with no problem. All I want to do is to share the partitions/drives/files between both pcs, it seemed a simple task but its driving me crazy. The main PC (HOME) doesnet see the HTPC at all at the 'Netwrok" folder The HTPC see the HOME PC but cant access it! getting 0x70080035 error. Im writing after digging all over the web, this is what I did so far without sucsses: -enabled NETBIOS over TCP/IP at the ipv4 wims tab. -restored router factory settings. -gave permanent IP to each PC (pool in the router config). - with and without "HOMEGROUP", same password and all. -Network discovery on. -password protected sharing off. -"Workgroup" (windows 7 default) on both systems. - even tried something in Control Panel\User Accounts and Family Safety\Credential Manager but I didn't know what to do there exactly, What do I need to edit there? - I see allot "did you ping it", how do I do that? BTW before the HOME PC was connected with a wifi dongle and everything was fine. I tried searching before posting here.. Please help me!

Just a thought, did you ensure the home group password is the same for both pc? Suggest you to enable DHCP IP on the router instead of using static IP. Btw is there any third party firewall on either pc like norton or zone alarm? If there is, temporary uninstall it. Hi, I suspect that your router is issuing an external (Public) DNS address which may be causing the issue. Please try access the file share via IP using \\192.168.0.1 (sub in your own IP) Also try Ping the IP addresses from each of the hosts. If this works, I can give you information on how to fix it so you can use it via computer name Regards, Martin If you find my information useful, please rate it. :-)

Hi, First of all, you should try to disable the firewall for check, then try to Ping between both computer. If ping is ok, try to access another computer by entering \\computername in the Start Search box or via IP Address, i.e. \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\sharename Hope this helps.Spencer TechNet Community Support
