I would like to share my experince in this IE8 hanging issue. Problem: 1 from 10 times clicking on the IE8 icon will start blank page hanging with busy mouse pointer. i have to terminate the task through the task manager.Solution:By uninstalling the "windows visual C++ 2005 redistributable" which be used by the ATI catalyst control center. I left the "windows visual C++ 2005 redistributable(x64)"installedThis solved myproblem so far, but i dont know if its useful solution for other users..
