When I turn on my laptop it comes up with the blue screen of death and it says recovery at the top.

It then says error code: 0xc0000428

I'm not an IT wiz and have no idea how to solve it.

How about your computer now? I'm sorry for may dilatory reply. As far as I know, this problem description ususlly like this:

File: \Windows\system32\boot\winload.exe

Status:0xc0000428

Info:Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file.

If your problem is this, you do need use Windows installatioin dic or WinPE to repair your system to fix this problem.

Or you can boot into with WinPE, then try to rename File: ***\***.exe file, then restart the computer for test.

And how do I boot into with WinPE?

I manage to boot up eventually but after many many restarts and as soon as it turns off it comes back when I turn it on again. I didn't get any installation media because it came with windows 8 installed.

If it came with win 8 installed there is probably a reset to factory/restore partition.  If you can eventually get it to boot we need the crash log called the DMP files to know what is happening with the computer.

We do need the actual DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.   WE NEED AT LEAST TWO DMP FILES TO SPOT TRENDS AND CONFIRM THE DIAGNOSIS.
