0x90284001 Bitlocker error

Hi,

I've been asked to put Bitlocker encryption on 10 tablets (Lenovo ThinkPad2 with 32bit Windows 8 pro) that some nurses use at my work. I 've managed to put it on 8 of them and get a PIN prompt at boot through the group policy settings. The last 2 tablets that I have to set up won't even allow me to turn Bitlocker on. It has an error message:

'code 0x90284001'

I've checked that TPM is enabled in the BIOS and I've tried to set it up in command prompt, but get the same error message. I haven't done anything different to these last 2 tablets than how I set up the previous 8 tablets, so I'm confused to where this has gone wrong. Can someone talk me through how to put this right please.

Thanks for your time,

Gary

Hi Gary,

Have seen this thread?

http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/405657-issue-with-bitlocker-error-0x90284001

There's a link to a KB article (for Vista, but the information should still be relevant) that mentions that this may be caused by partition issues:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/930434

If that doesn't help, you'll probably have better luck asking this question over in the Win8 forums here:

This forum is for feedback on the TechNet website/subscriptions, not product support.

Good luck.

No worries, the forum structure here is certainly confusing.

Glad you got it worked out.
