0x80070005 error attempting to accessed shared drive; how do I try a different username and password for the drive??
I am on Windows Vista with all available updates. I am attempting to access a SAMBA drive on a Linux computer on our home network. When I click on the Network entry in Windows Explorer, it goes out and takes forever to find the computers connected to our local network, but it does eventually find "THOR" (and all other computers), and it shows "sdb1", "sdc1", "sdd1", and "sde1" drives available on it. I click on one of the drives and a popup appears asking me for a Username and Password to access the drive. THIS IS ALL OK SO FAR. I enter the (correct) username and password, and I get a Network Error popup which says "Windows cannot access \\THOR\sdb1" (or whichever drive I select). I "See Details" and it shows Error Code 0x80070005 and says "Access is denied". I click on diagnose and it says: "sdb1" is available but the user account that you are logged on with was denied access. MY QUESTION IS NOT HOW DO I FIX THIS! My question is: How do I make Windows FORGET that I have tried a username and password and ASK ME FOR IT AGAIN? The only way I can figure out is to log out and log back in, which is just STUPID.
