.Net and Windows Installer error - Video Games cannot connect to the Internet
A coupleof weeks ago, my computer had a mass conniption, which required me to completely repair my Windows XP Home installation. Afterwards, several games that I used to play over the Internet (League of Legends, Dawn of War II[which uses Windows Live Games or whatever that is]) no longer connect to said Internet. Some of the forums/suggestions I have seen have mentioned that it may be an error within the .NET framework, and they said I should un/re-install it. Attempting to do so, I chose to repair the installation first, thinking it would have less a chance of going horribly wrong as these things do. However, after the installer "verified the files" but before it began to repair, the program cut off and informed me that the Windows Installer Service could not be accessed, and that [Installer] is not correctly installed.I then tried to repair the Installer service, and tried every online FAQ (including the Windows ones) I could find, but to no avail. No matter how often I un/re-installed it, the .NET Framework refused to repair, and my games still refuse to play.Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.1 person needs an answerI do too
