..service is marked as an interactive service Event ID 7030
Hello, I am working on an installer which also installs an service "TestService". The service is installed to allow service to interact with desktop (we need a little console to show errors etc.. ) I have one PC with Win 7 Enterprise where I cannot start this service. The windows system log is: Event ID 7030 The TestService service is marked as an interactive service. However, the system is configured to not allow interactive services. This service may not function properly. I tried to disable Interactive Service detection service and also activate (automatic) But nothing, no chance to start my service on this PC. What else can I check? by the way: I had no problems on other pc's. The service starts, the interactive service detections shows the console, click ok ... best regards Hans

Hi, thank you for help. I have seen this article. I also tried this; Microsoft has changed services under Vista, 7, and 2008 to no longer allow for interactive services. You need to change the service to stop asking to be interactive: - Open Services.msc - find the listed service - Select Properties - Select Log On tab - Clear the checkbox for "Allow service to interact with desktop" - Click Apply, OK, and restart the service. I also tried this; Click the Start button, Run, then type cmd to open a command prompt.Type sc interrogate service_name (where service_name is the name of the service) at the command prompt to update the status of that service in Service Control Manager. The problem is that my service does not start. best regards Hans

In addition, due to the service is developed by you, I would like to suggest posting the issue in MSDN related forums to see if guys there can help you. Hope this helps.
