... Temp. Error:(The system cannot find the file specified. (0x80070002)) - Windows Backup Badly Broken
Hi, I have several windows 7 machines. All created with clean installs. Some 32 bit some 64 bit fully patched Intel processors with minimum of 4 GB RAM. Everyone that I've tried windows backup on has failed to complete without errors. I'm using the default "let windows backup decide what needs backing up" option. Currently I'm (not) figuring out this one: Backup encountered a problem while backing up file C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Temp. Error:(The system cannot find the file specified. (0x80070002)) I tried telling backup not to backup this part of the directory, but Backup will not let you specifiy what parts of the System32 directory to ignore (not surprising I guess, but you would think in this case that Backup would be smart enough to know what to do in the system32 directory). I wonder if Backup is walking the NTFS directory tree to do the baclkup and encountering bad data in the directory (dir entry but no file). This could be more serious than just broken Backup (which is bad enough) !!
