'Fix' button in the Viewer of Windows Photo Gallery
Where is the Fix button in the Viewer of Windows Photo Gallery in Win 7? It has photo editing tools that need to be enhanced and not done away with. I would like to see a dialoque that would ask you if you want to save changes for an edited photo. Changes to a photo should by default save the edited photo as a copy to the same folder with a same file name that's extended such as DSCN1370.jpg would be DSCN1370-modified.jpg with the DSCN1370.jpg intact and unaltered. That way they stay together and you don't loose the revertcopies if you reload Windows.

Where is the Fix button in the Viewer of Windows Photo Gallery in Win 7? It has handy photo editing tools that need to be enhanced and not done away with. I would like to see a dialog that would ask you if you want to save changes for an edited photo though to a location chosen by user. Changes to a photo could by default ask to save the edited photo as a copy to the same folder as original with a same file name extended such as DSCN1370.jpg would be DSCN1370-edited.jpg with the DSCN1370.jpg intact and unaltered. That way they stay together and you don't loose the revertcopies (in Vista) if you reload Windows. If photos are derived from a CD/DVD the user would have to choose where to save altered photos elsewhere.Further Comment: Not even Photoshop Elements 7 or Paint Shop Pro X2 has a 16x9 crop tool--only the Viewerin the Windows Photo Gallery of Windows Vista!!! That's even more reason to include edit tools (Fix button) in the Viewerof the Windows Photo Gallery in Windows 7.

That's even more reason to include edit tools (Fix button) in the Viewerof the Windows Photo Gallery in Windows 7. When you open Live Photo Gallery - as part of Live Essentials - you should see an explorer like tree on the left and thumbnails of the pictures in each folder on the right. If you double click a given file, it will zoom in on that picture and present you a list of options - including Auto Adjust. This will fix anything it thinks is wrong with the picture. In addition, there's a FIX item in the menu at the top that will zoom in as if you double clicked on the picture. I agree though, it would be good if there was an option to "Save As" an altered file. There IS, however, an option to make a copy of a file on the File menu. I generally make a backup copy of the files before I start mucking about with pictures in WLPG.
