Hi,
Did you backup the 64bit system on another computer with different hardware environments?
Please understand CompletePC Backup images can be used for disaster recovery and can be restored to another computer. The limitations on this are architecture related (x86 should be restored to x86 and not to x64, for example). Of course your new machine needs to have enough hard disk space to apply your image, a larger disk image can't be restore to a smaller disk.
It should also be noted that in order to perform a CompletePC backup to a different PC, the other PC will need to have the exact same hardware in order for that system to boot. Since a CompletePC backup consistes of an entire system, including the device drivers specific to that system, restoring that backup to a system with different hardware will result in many errors
Usually, we perform the CompletePC Backup and Restore operation on the same computer. If you would like to restore the image to another computer, please make sure the destination computer has the same hardware environments as the original computer.
Sometimes this issue can be caused by an improper disk. Please use a x64 retail (not MSDN) Windows Vista disk to check the result.
In addition, Startup Repair available in Windows Vista does not exist in Windows Server 2008.
Hope it helps.

Hi,
Thank you for the reply.
Now please try the following method:
When booting from the Windows Server 2008 DVD, on the Select operating system page, select the blank space in the list under the Windows Server 2008 operating system, and then click Next. (By default, the 64-bit operating system is selected in the list of installed operating systems. Now I suggest not selecting any operating system)
Can we restore Windows Server 2008 64bit now?

Hi, Thank you for the reply.Once more.
1. When you use for install and restore Vista setup disk that contains 64-bit software ONLY ( Windows Vista Business 64-bit English 1pk DSP OEI DVD ), there is NO problems and error messages with complete PC Backup - complete PC Restore.
2. When you perform complete PC Backup Windows Vista Business 64-bit and then try using for recovery Vista setup disk that contains 32-bit software ONLY ( Windows Vista Business 32-bit English 1pk DSP OEI DVD ): 2.1 You receive the error message ( refer to the KB925762 ):-This version of System Recovery Options is not compatible with the version of Windows you are trying to repair. Try using a recovery disc that is compatible with this version of Windows. 2.2. You must select the blank space in the list under the Windows Vista operating system, and click Next ( this is the end of KB925762). 2.3. You see window "System Recovery Options", when you can choose "Windows Complete PC Restore". 2.4. You receive window "Restore your entire computer from a backup" and click Next. 2.5. Click "Finish" on screen "Windows Complete PC Restore is ready to restore your computer using following
backup" 2.6. Click " I confirm" - "OK" 2.7. You receive the error message:- Windows Complete PC Restore"The Windows Complete PC Restore operation FAILED.Windows cannot restore a backup that was created on a different computer architecture. The backup was created on a
computer with a different architecture(x64) than this computer(x86). 2.8. So, kb925762 cannot help anyone, and this is my $0.02.
3. By my opinion, the Windows Recovery Environment utility on the Windows Vista installation discuse "computer architecture" from file DVD:\sources\idwbinfo.txt: 3.1. Vista setup disk that contains 32-bit software ONLY:[BUILDINFO]BuildArch=x86 3.2. Vista setup disk that contains 64-bit software ONLY:[BUILDINFO]BuildArch=amd64
4. Windows Svr Std 2008 32Bit/x64 English 1pk DSP OEI DVD 1-4CPU 5 Clt that contains 32-bit and 64-bit software:DVD:\sources\idwbinfo.txt:[BUILDINFO]BuildArch=x86
5. Windows Server 2008 x64 Complete PC Restore IS NOT AVAILABLE, if you using installation disc Windows Svr 2008 32Bit/x64 that contains 32-bit and 64-bit software.
6. Windows Server 2008 x64 Complete PC Restore can performif you using Vista setup disk that contains 64-bit software ONLY.
Hope it helps anybody.

When I do this:1. Click "Install Now" instead of the system restore options2. Proceed to "Select operating system" screen.3. Click blank space in the list rather than select an operating system. The "Next button becomes disabled and I can not continue.
