windows server slow to start
OS is Server 2008 Standard SP2, Hardware is IBM x3850M2 with 4 x 4 core Xeon & 128Mb
Server is running hyper-v with 4 guest servers.
This and another identical server have suddenly become very slow to shutdown (>1 hour) and incredibly slow to start once logged in (between 2 & 12 hours)
Nothing shows in the eventlogs but the server manager logs show the time period:

This happens very soon after login and then the gui freezes for a long period of time then all works normally.
Ideas?

Hi,
Does your physical machine or virtual machine start slowly?
If you boot into Safe Mode, will it be fast?
I suggest also trying a Clean Boot to test the issue.
Clean boot
=================
1. Click Start, click Run, type "msconfig" (without quotation marks) in the Start Search box, and then press Enter.
2. Click the "Services" tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box and click "Disable All" (if it is not gray).
3. Click the "Startup" tab, click "Disable All" and click "OK".
Then, restart the computer. When the "System Configuration Utility" window appears, please check the "Don't show this message or launch the System Configuration
Utility when Windows starts" box and click OK.
What’s the result?

It's the physical server that is slow. Safe mode is fine. Clean boot I can't try until the weekend.
