windows server 2008 r2 kms
Hi All we have installed a windows server 2008 r2 kms server and its up and running, we have then created a gold image to install additonal windows server 2008 r2 servers, but these will not authenticate to the KMS server. I think this is because we have added a Volume Licence Key into the gold image and i need to know if i should have left this out and just pointed it to the kms server ? Adam

Hi, As I understand that you want to setup additional Windows Server 2008 R2 servers that are activated via Windows Server 2008 R2 KMS server. If you setup the right KMS key in your golden image to make the system a KMS client. There is no additional configuration needed, you only need to point the KMS client to the KMS server. By default, KMS client can locate a KMS host automatically by querying DNS for SRV records that publish the KMS service, then activate itself via KMS server.
