windows server 2003 sp2
Attempting to install Windows Server 2003 SP2. This procedure has been performed 45 times, no errors on other servers in the environment. On this server after clicking on the file I downloaded from the MSFT site, a dialog box appears "extraction failed, unable to find window class".

Click on run then write services.msc . Once done go and enable ( or just restart ) all services involving RPC ( Remote Procedure Call) instructions as well as "Server" service. Please try this and check if this solve your problem. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

Try another download. Also you might try extracting on another machine and then copy the files over. (execute WindowsServer2003-KB914961-SP2-x86-ENU.exe /x to extract the files)Regards, Dave Patrick .... Microsoft Certified Professional -Microsoft MVP [Windows]

Hi, Please navigate to Event Viewer to see whether there are any errors. By the way, if the issue continue, it is recommend that you perform an in-place upgrade to repair the problematic system and then install the service pack.
