To install the media player, you'll need to install the Desktop Experience. (it's a feature) To install media services you'll need to download it from here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/forpros/serve/prodinfo95.aspx

First you have to download the proper msu standalone update to the server core. Search for msu standalone update steaming. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2c09fd09-a1d8-4c27-b210-cd16dd778b62&DisplayLang=en You must choose the proper msu to install from one of the six listed (3 are for 64-bit, 3 are for standard x86) one is for standard server, one is for enterprise/datacenter and one is for the administration of the streaming services.
