windows XP I want to access files from server and it is very slow
Try updating the network card drivers/firmware on the server and the workstation as a start. Try another switch/port if possible. If this is a workstation try moving the machine to the switch that is closest to the server.

Hello, There is multiple possible causes for that. Please try proceeding like mentioned: Update your NIC card driver Run ncpa.cpl and make sure that your client computer is pointing to internal DNS servers as primary and secondary ones (If you have multiple ones) and that your ISP DNS servers is configured as forwarders on your DNS servers. Run ipconfig /flushdns Once done, check results. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights. Hello, also make sure that you use only the domain DNS servers on the NIC and not your ISPs or the router ip address.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.
