windows 2008 grinding to a halt
Running the beta on a machine I have used before for 2003 server - nice and stable. I am only using DHCP server, File server and Print server. However, I also use the machine to share my itunes library around the house. I have installed itunes and copied across my backed up itunes folder. Then in itunes I tell itunes to add from folder and point it at the library. Itunes adds all the files, and then upon running sorting will grind to a halt stopping. I can still click start , but all windows on the screen are not refreshed and the machine stops repsonding to pings etc. Only thing is to re-boot. I have also found the machine needed a reboot the other day as it would not allocated IP addresses. Any ideas, or is this just wait for the next beta release? Regards Ian

Hi Sounds like an intersting issue you are having, is all this done on the server itself? Is it possible to start taskmanager to see what process is locking the os? Have you turned on the firewall, might want to check the config of that one if you have done so. Brjann
