windows 2008 R2 reboots at Preparing to configure windows
i have a problem after installing windows updates my server windows 2008 R2 enterprise reboots when displaying "Preparing to configure windows, Do not turn off your computer" i really hate to rebuild this server and i don't have a recent backup for it any ideas ?

i did not start after the reboot, the current state is rebooting at preparing to configure windows.... i tried safe mode but same problem, i tried last know good conf also not successful

Hi, Please unplug all external devices like external hard drive, USB drive, etc, and restart the computer to test again. Meanwhile, is this server a Domain controller? If so, is there any other DC in the domain? Regards, Bruce

no external drives attached to the server and the server is not a domain controller is an application server with IIS and SQL 2008 x64
