why are permissions lost from users  profile path?

why are permissions lost from users profile path? users when trying to log on get that roaming profile cannot be loaded. it is found that they have lost permissions on their profile path.
after repermissioning and giving back inheritance this seem to fix the issue. has anyone experienced this issue?why does it happen? what is the resolution? could lack of space be the cause?

Hello,

Do not know why this happened and never heard of such thing before. You can enable Audit (change permissions) on the root folder of roaming profiles. So if someone tries to change the permission on the root folder again, the operation will be recorded in Event
logs. By viewing the event logs, you will get to know when the permission was changed and who did it.

Fore your reference, heres an article which will help you recover the permissions of the roaming profiles if the same thing happens again.

Reconfigure roaming profile folder and home folder permission for all the users
