what is difference between clustering and V motion

what is difference between clustering and V motion ? my understanding clisuter setup their psycial server or vitual server e.g one

ESXI (host) cluster or fail over to another ESXI (host)? it is correct again needs to install any application on both servers e.g Exchange, SCCM 2012, SCOM 2012 servers needs to install on both EXSI boxes or cluster box ? I know these boxes are share common share so one box installation it will function has cluster?

V motion is same as cluster?

A vMotion between two ESX Hosts is effectively the equivalent of a Hyper-V Live Migration for planned downtime.

Clustering is a high availability technology for unplanned downtime, much like VMware HA
