vrfydsk.exe not running
Hello all, apologies if I am in the wrong group. I am trying to run this command on a Windows 2003 SP2 server as vrfydsk.exe c: /v. But all that happens is the command line just goes to the next line. Nothing is said about volume snapshots or anything. I have installed the Windows 2003 resource tools but not sure what I am doing wrong. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Hi, The Vrfydsk.exe tool does not support Windows Server 2003 SP2. It is recommended to use the Chkdsk.exe tool in read-only mode instead of using the Vfrydsk.exe tool. Running Chkdsk.exe tool in read-only mode will create and use a snapshot to check the volume. This resembles what the Vrfydsk.exe tool does.
