view your basic network information and set up connections says I've no internet connection but I surf the web...
Hi all,
Windows Server 2008R2, the server is in LAN and can surf the internet (via proxy) can ping its default gateway and so on. But in the "Network and sharing center" under the "view your basic network information and set up connections" graphic I see I don't
have internet access (I see the red cross). What's the matter?

This is well known "problem" that stems from the detection mechanism. Microsoft uses two test:
NCSI performs a DNS lookup on
www.msftncsi.com, then requests http://www.msftncsi.com/ncsi.txt. This file is a plain-text file and contains only the text
Microsoft NCSI. NCSI sends a DNS lookup request for
dns.msftncsi.com. This DNS address should resolve to 131.107.255.255. If the address does not match, then it is assumed that the internet connection is not functioning correctly.
If for any reason the name resolution fails, then both tests fail. This test is automatically repeated. You can safely discard this warning. I would repaire itself.
