Hello,
Regarding you question, Windows Server 2008 and Vista SP1 provide a new file system exFAT which has the following features and might meet your requirement:
Enables the file system to handle growing capacities in media, increasing the volume capacity to volume sizes larger than 32GB
Removes the previous file size limit of 4GB with support for large files with a theoretical maximum file size of 264 bytes
Handles more than 1000 files in a single directory
Speeds up storage allocation processes through use of an allocation bitmap which is used to determine free space
Provides an extensible format, including OEM-definable parameters to customize the file system for specific device characteristics
Moreover, based on my research, some third parties package the exFAT driver from Vista SP1 to install it on Windows XP & Windows Server 2003.
This may work; however, it is not officially supported. You could try this on your Windows XP machine.
Thanks.
