using certificate templates for standalone CA
Dear All ,
we are planning to use a offline rootCA , sub CA , RAs and online responders all in standalone mode ( not added to domain - part on workgroup only) , Is there any means to use certificate template with this standalone environment (like for EFS ,
WebServer , etc)
The environment is running solaris , linux and very few windows OS .Is there an alternate to edit the CSR (from Non Microsoft Clients ) and modify object IDs using certreq ?
Is there a list to which we can refer to for object IDs ?
Kindly help
Thanks
Shaun

Standalone CAs do not support certificate templates.

you can try this: http://www.alvestrand.no/objectid/top.html
However, I would advice to implement Enterprise CA for user and computer certificates. My weblog: http://en-us.sysadmins.lv
PowerShell PKI Module: http://pspki.codeplex.com
