uploading new server
We are getting a new server with win 2008. Is it recommended to load all programs fresh onto new machine or use something like a Shadow Protect backup from old server to get new server up and running with all of our software and settings. Just trying to cut down on integration time. Also old server is 32bit and new machine will be 64, any problem using old machine as a cold backup?

would definetely recommend installing apps natively on new server, especially with the difference in architecture, 32 vs 64 bit!Sean McNeill Microsoft Gold Partner http://staterainfrastructure.blogspot.com/

Hi, If possible, I suggest installing fresh programs on your new system. Tim Quan
