RRAS is part of the OS. You do not need to install it - it is already there. If you don't want to use it, go to the RRAS console and remove the config you have set up.

Hello,
Disable it as you don't use it.
To make sure that all is okay, run ipconfig /all on your server and check that it is disabled.
.i have 30 users...and some have problems getting onto the internet I usually restart the ras but lately i am thinking i will do away with it all to gether but
cant..
Check your routes. What are the roles that are installed on this server? Is it a DNS server? If yes, make sure that public DNS servers are set as forwarders and not as secondary DNS servers in IP settings.
I didnt install it and dont know how to unbind it from the internet settings ??? How do i uninstall ras and keep my users on the network and on the internet....
You have to give more details about your environment and roles installed on this server.

Hello,
open the management console and disable RRAS, that's it. Right-click the server name in the console.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

Hi,
Agree with the above suggestions that RRAS is built-in feature in Windows Server 2003. It cannot be uninstalled but can be disabled.
For more information, please refer to this article:

Mr X,
you wrote Check your routes. What are the roles that are installed on this server? Is it a DNS server?
If yes, make sure that public DNS servers are set as forwarders and not as secondary DNS servers in IP settings.
I am lost when you talk about this....check my routes please elaborate?
also the roles that are installed are dc,dns, dhcp, print server, fileserver, remote access, and wins at least it pulls up in the ipconfig /all as for those detail...
the IP = the server
gateway = server ip...
dns server =127.0.0.1
then say 69.6.190.....you get the idea? I didnt install any of this I just came into it....please help
what do you mean by make sure the public dns servers are set as forwarders and not as secondary ip settings?
Thanks in advance

Hello,
I am lost when you talk about this....check my routes please elaborate?
I mean that your routes are well configured. You can validate that by ping requests and checking replied.
also the roles that are installed are dc,dns, dhcp, print server, fileserver, remote access, and wins at least it
pulls up in the ipconfig /all as for those detail...
Enabling RRAS and multihoming a DC is not recommended as this causes DNS problems => AD problems.
More here: http://msmvps.com/blogs/acefekay/archive/2009/08/17/multihomed-dcs-with-dns-rras-and-or-pppoe-adapters.aspx
Please run RRAS on a separate server and disable one of the NICs on the DC.
dns server =127.0.0.1
Using 127.0.0.1 as primary DNS server is not recommended. Please use the private IP address as primary DNS server. You can use 127.0.0.1 as secondary one.
then say 69.6.190.....you get the idea? I didnt install any of this I just came into it....please help
Please set each public DNS server as a forwarder and not as a secondary DNS server.

I copied these straight from the server left out some info if needed let me know .
When you say do this
I mean that your routes are well configured. You can validate that by ping requests and checking replied.
How do I do it? and what routes?
As for this I appreciate it but thats what shoudnt have been done like I said I didnt set it up...I am taking it over and want a fix not a article on what shouldnt have been done...please dont take that wrong
the article was a good read.

As for the last of what you said: I want to disable RAS get rid of it not run on a seperate server at one time before the RAS was enabled this worked fine so please is there any instructions on
how to undo all this and get it to function properly??
Please run RRAS on a separate server and disable one of the NICs on the DC.

Thank you again for your time and help....!!! please help more
Also last thing after reading your article alot made sense alot didnt...more didnt...anyway this was stated
Summary
If you have your ISP's DNS addresses in your IP configuration (all DCs, member servers and clients), they need to be REMOVED and ONLY use the internal DNS server(s). This will cause numerous problems with AD.
In my ipconfig this is happening ...correct? If so how do i change this to internal dns? and what would that be? and would this solve the problem? and allow me to disable the rras?

Hello again,
please use this IP configuration:
Windows IP Configuration
Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : .......
Primary Dns Suffix .
. . . . . . :......local
Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Unknown
IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No
WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : Yes
DNS Suffix Search List. . . . . . :.......local
Ethernet adapter Lan .25:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix .
:
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Broadcom NetXtreme
Gigabit Ethernet #2
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . :////////
DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.25...
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.25....
same as the ip above
DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.25...
127.0.0.1
Also, disable RRAS on the server and disable the second NIC card. Once done, run
ipconfig /registerdns and restart netlogon on the DC.
Also, please set 69.6.190.11 as
a forwarder and not as a secondary DNS server.
Please run RRAS on a separate server.
I
mean that your routes are well configured. You can validate that by ping requests and checking replied.
How do I do it? and what routes?
Use ping IP_ADDRESS on CMD (Example: ping 192.168.25.100) and check replies.
As for the last of what you said: I want to disable RAS get rid of it not run on a seperate server at one
time before the RAS was enabled this worked fine so please is there any instructions on how
to undo all this and get it to function properly??
I don't have other suggestion other than disabling RRAS and uninstalling it. Your setup is not recommended as it is the cause of multiple problems. If you have an error doing it, please post the exact error message.
