1. First of all backup you current license server including system state to be sure, that you have a return path 2. Install and prepare virtual licensing server in virtual environment and call Clearinghouse, here is how to do it http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=291795

Hi if you want to use the same server with virtual enviorement better thing is convert the server to the virtual machine (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc764232.aspx) if not deactivate terminal server licenses from existing server and activate and install license on new server in virtual enviorement. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/814593 rDarshana Jayathilake

Hello, do you keep the OS version or do you change this also? If you keep the OS version then have your licensing papers at hand and call Microsoft clearinghouse to reactive the server. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/953918 2008: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc730776(WS.10).aspxBest regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.
