technical and functional design
we dont use predifined design manuals for creating technical environments at our company. But, i would like to start teaching our junior consultants the same way of desinging environments for customers. The problem is that i cannot find any info on the net
or in bookstores about technical and fuctional designs for technical windows environments.
Does anyone know if books about thecnical and functional designs for windows environments exist? Or has Microsoft information available for that purpose? The reason for asking is really simple, the difference between designs done by different consultants
are too big.

Hello,
That depends of what you want to implement exactly.

many thanks for the reply.
What i would like to implement depends on the customer. Normally new servers, new clients, backup, virtualization and so on.For instance, in a functional design they need to tell the customer what they are going to do. In a technical design they need to
design the dnsstructure, dhcpstructure,...

Here, the answers will be no limit. However, I would recommend that you read the Microsoft Design guides for each role you want to implement. I already provided you with the one related to DCs.

I suggest we could refer to the following article about Server Roles and Technologies for Windows Server 2008 R2, it will provide us a guideline when we design, deploy, manage and troubleshoot
