task sheduler doesn't start
hi,When doing some task I always use the task sheduler of windows. This has always worked until tuesday...I checked services, Anti-virus software and even the firewall, but all thishelps nothing....It's a simple bat file that allows me to do certain things in once.I did a simple test and the execution time was 1 minute after creation. It just passed that time and did nothing...Operation system is SBS03

Hi,Please try above suggestions and let us know the result. If the issue continues, this issue may also occur if the Task Scheduler file is corrupt. I suggest you try to delete all tasks to test if possible.Open C:\Windows\Tasks folder, move all tasks file to another folder and delete them in this folder. Try to create a new task and test. If the issue persists, please let us know the detailed error in Event Log if any. In C:\Windows folder, you can find Schedlgu.txt file, send it to tfwst@microsoft.com for research.Thanks. Ok, Some news...I found the shedlgu.txt file, and it shows no activity concerning certains tasks.Certain files, because the performace task of the SBS keeps running according to plan.maybe i have to mention that the task that is running is a bat file.

Hi,The update may change system settings and cause this issue. Please check if Terminal Services service is stopped.1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc , and then click OK. 2. Right-click the Terminal Services service, and then click Properties. 3. On the General tab, click Manual in the Startup type box. 4. Click OK. 5. Restart Task Scheduler service. After that, please try to create a simple task, such as run Notepad after two minutes. Could it work now? If not, please open C:\Windows folder, find Windowsupdate.log file, ZIP it and send to tfwst@microsoft.com for research.Thanks. Hi,Is the Terminal Services running? If not, please change the Startup Type to Automatic and restart the system to check if it could run. Meanwhile, please help to clarify the following questions, they are important for our troubleshooting.1. Does it work if you schedules a simple task, such as NotePad?2. Does the batch file work if your run it manually?Download MPS Reporting Tool (MPSRPT_PFE.EXE) from the following link: (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=00ad0eac-720f-4441-9ef6-ea9f657b5c2f&DisplayLang=en)Please note: The link may be truncated when you read the E-mail. Be sure to include all text between '(' and ')' when navigating to the download location.B . Right click MPSRPT_PFE.EXE and select Run as Administrator to run this tool, and you will see a Command Window start up.C . Please type Y with the message of <Include the MSINFO32 report? (defaults to Y in 15 seconds)[Y,N]?D . When the tool is done you will see an Explorer Window opening up the %systemroot%\MPSReports\Setup\Reports\cab folder and containing a <Computername>MPSReports.cab file. After collecting, please use Windows Live SkyDrive (http://www.skydrive.live.com/) to upload the file and then give me the download address.Thanks. Hi,Thanks you for update. However, the logs are not in English, I can only get a little information. Based on the current situation, I suggest we try the following generally troubleshooting steps to narrow down the cause:1. Test in Clean Boot. Click Start, click Run, type "msconfig", switch to Service tab, click Hide Microsoft Services, click Disable All. Switch to Startup Tab, disable all items. Please dont enable antivirus. 2. If the issue doesnt occur, this issue was caused by third party software. You can try to enable half of disabled items and repeat to find the cause.3. If the issue still occurs, lets try to check the properties of the task.a. Open Task Scheduler.b. Double-click the NotePad scheduled task. c. In the Task tab, make sure the Enabled options was checked. d. In the Run as box, check the name and click Set Password button, reenter the password.e. Change settings to let it run after 1 minutes. Could it work?4. If not, switch to Settings tab, check settings and remove any option that may block the task. Test again.Thanks. hi,Firstof all, thx for all the help.Second... I think the sheduler works.... but don't ask me why....I read the logs again and again to make sure that I haven't missed anything...But then I saw and line that said that the battery was connected, so he could do the task. But I'm absolutely sure that at first i didn't mention anything. Was it because of the terminal services.... which still remains the same (manual, started, but cannot stop or restart)?I have no clue what it could be. I didn't intall updates, nor restarted the server..All I can say is: when it occurs again, i will post it immediately...
